The Appeal
For a visceral and back-to-basic driving experience, it doesn’t get much better than a Morgan. Lean, simple and thrilling to drive, the Morgan Plus 4's engaging charm is one that will appeal to any motorist looking for a burst of serotonin. The basic premise for the Plus 4 was conceived in the 1950s and was treated to a variety of engines over its lifespan.
Yet despite its antiquated appearance, Morgan has always kept on top of the mechanical aspect, along with structural changes to help keep the car abreast of legislation demands, without losing an ounce of character. Valued as a competition tool, as much as a pub meet car, the Plus 4 has always been appreciated for its simplicity and modest running costs.
This incarnation of the Plus 4 was released in 2004, fitted with the reliable 2.0-litre Ford/Mazda Duratec engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It also hosted a wide variety of improvements including a wider chassis, aluminium panels and stainless steel bulkheads and valances. While never bought for practicality, the easy-up hood and slicker controls were a useful concession and added further appeal to an already appreciative clientele.
Specified with a unique and stunning Ferrari Nurburgring Argento Metallic Silver paint finish from new, this 2005 car complemented by an attractive blue mohair hood and Yarwood Regal Blue leather interior. It has just 17,994 miles on the clock and has six documented services under its belt with a stack of invoices totalling £5,000. Sold with full weather gear, a car cover and a Tonneau, it has an MOT to January 2024 and could be just the thing for those weekend blasts.

Summary
No two Morgan's are the same, each one has its own distinctive personality, perhaps like a beloved pet - you learn to appreciate its differences and embrace the good points. As an asset, a Morgan offers many positive attributes, with charm and driving involvement being the main draws, but there’s the rock-solid deprecation and pleasantly frugal costs to enjoy too. Add in a robust paper trail of maintenance and servicing on top of its excellent prevention and low mileage, there really is no reason why this distinctively finished car shouldn't find a place in your heart.
