The Appeal
The Audi TT enjoyed a cosmopolitan origin story, originally tracing its history back to a styling exercise by Volkswagen’s Design Centre in California. When it went into production in 1994 it was produced in the firm’s Hungarian subsidiary. The MKII model appeared in 2006 and was now based on VW’s A5-PQ35 platform and continued to be produced in the Hungarian factory. To continue its cosmopolitan theme the TT has gone on to be popular and sought after worldwide.
This example hails from that first year of MKII production and is in well specified and popular V6, S-Tronic specification featuring the power unit from the VR6. To help make best use of the 247bhp this car has the Quattro four-wheel drive system like all V6 TTs. This car presents in a really good overall condition for its age and benefits from a full and documented service history.

- The centre console housed the wide screened Audi Navigation system
- This also controls the high specification Bose music system
- Below this sits the climate control system (fully working)
- The S-Tronic gear selector features a machined Raceng alloy knob
- Cruise control and tyre pressure sensors are also present
- The luggage area is accessed via the large glass hatch
- This is well shaped and trimmed in hard wearing grey carpet
- The original tools and jack are housed under the boot floor
The Exterior
- The car presents in gleaming Monsoon Grey Metallic livery
- The condition of the original paintwork appears to be excellent
- It exudes a deep and lustrous shine throughout
- The current owner describes it as in excellent condition for its age
- He notes it has a small scuff on the rear three-quarters
- This has been touched in with the correct Audi touch up paint
- Some non-standard but tasteful features can be noted

The Mechanics
- The V6 3.2L TT is fitted with the 249bhp unit from the VR6
- This was always paired with the Quattro all wheel drive system to maximise grip
- Power is fed to all wheels via a six speed Audi S-Tronic direct shift transmission
- The car has been fitted with a Milltek Cat back exhaust system
- This is thought to increase power by around 30bhp and cost £650
- The car has been diligently maintained and boasts sensible original mileage
- As such the owner reports the car as running very well and sounding great
- No dashboard lights are reported
- The owner does comment that the original spoiler light comes on at around 80mph
- This goes off again at 50mph and is a hang over from the original dynamic spoiler

Summary
The Audi TT caused quite a stir when it burst onto the scene in 1994. It was hailed as an almost Audi conceived 911, but not quite. The original MKI cars were popular, but their driving experience was a little marred by the turbo lag and peaky power delivery from their 1.8L engines. The MKII dramatically improved this situation especially in this V6 3.2L form with Quattro all wheel drive. As such, early MKII cars with sensible mileage are becoming increasingly desired and sought after.
This example is a great exemplar of the breed, too. It has been subtly upgrades with well chosen RS parts and comes in the highly accomplished S-Tronic and 3.2L V6 Quattro specification. It’s got a lovely leather clad cabin and is well equipped and specified.
