The Appeal
We first saw a "V8 Vantage" in 1977 and in the years since, each new iteration has been as exciting as the last. The predecessor to the current V8 Vantage is a particularly favourite of ours thanks to its particularly rev-happy jaguar-derived V8. The styling too was sensational, hailing from one of Aston Martin's best design periods under Ian Callum.
The Roadster is particularly fun to drive as you can hear that crisp exhaust note that bit clearer without the trappings of a roof and cars always feel quicker in open-topped form. Contemporary road tests found there was no notable reduction in rigidity compared with the coupé, with CAR noting that the Roadster "doesn’t shimmy over crests or bumps".
This 2007 example cuts a fine figure with its rare Vertigo Blue exterior and luxurious navy and cream interior. It has just 34,684 miles on the clock and the car's condition reflects this. We can see little in the way of wear and the impeccable MOT record is a testament to the fact the car has been well-looked after.
