The Appeal

The Porsche Cayman S is one of the best-regarded cars to roll off of the German production lines, something only accented further with the second generation of the esteemed model. With impressive performance from the flat-six within and those classic brand aesthetics, it’s little wonder.
Fitted out with a highly impressive red leather interior, this example comes to us in superb condition both inside and out, complete with the much-sought-after Sport Chrono Package.

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered November 2010
  • Acquired by current owner in January 2016
  • Valid MOT until April 2023
  • Mileage indicates 47,505 miles
  • Original Porsche owner’s wallet
  • Two sets of keys
  • Original driver’s manual
  • Original guarantee and maintenance book
  • Porsche paperwork such as service centre centres, assistance paperwork and more
  • Large collection of MOT certificates
  • Impressive collection of invoices

The Interior

  • Beautiful and highly appointed interior in red leather
  • Fitted with a high-spec infotainment system
  • Impressive red leather sports seats with embossed branding
This 2010 Cayman 987 immediately wraps you in a world of rich red leather and winning design. Flowing, red leather upholstery and a curvy binnacle all set a sublime, luxurious tone - and one that contrasts beautifully against the white exterior paintwork.
The dashboard is a smooth, flowing bit of sculpture - festooned in nicely organised dials and big air conditioning vents, which pick out contrasting tones of black and silver. The instruments all look to be in superb order, and the dashboard itself is very well kept, with no major marks or staining that we can discern. This extends to the infotainment system and the two-tone gearshift.
The top it all, a bold red leather-wrapped steering wheel with silver accents and Porsche branding turns heads and cements the car as being a quality piece of German engineering. You’ll note the addition of the silver stopwatch and lap timer, part of the Sport Chrono Package Plus System.
The seats are largely superb, with the slightest pop of sag, and a distinct worn texture to the door-side bolster of the driver’s seat. However, we can’t pick out any rips or tears that heavily detract from their appearance.
The carpets are in good order, as is the black contrasting headlining and the part-leather door cards. We can’t see any marks or major signs of wear here, which extends to the beautifully kept carpeted boot.
Ultimately, it’s a true touch of luxury - and in a bright, memorable colour scheme that’s impossible to ignore.

The Exterior

  • Classic Porsche profile in a smart white colour scheme
  • Original branded alloys
With that curvy profile and the distinctively shaped headlights, Porsches are nothing if not recognisable. This Cayman S doesn’t disappoint, boasting a minimalist, eye-catching aesthetic in bright white. The body panels all appear to be tightly fitted and free of dents or dings, too.
The paintwork shows standard levels of wear to the sills and lower bumper, but these are little more than your standard levels of light-use commensurate wear. We can’t spot any major signs of scratching, chips or paint loss, keeping that bright white finish beautifully sleek.
The car sits on its original Turbo III Design alloys, which show slight levels of wear and the odd bit of loss to their silver finish- though this is instantly obscured by the attention-grabbing Porsche branding.
Underneath, the car is in great order, with no clear signs of corrosion and no obvious damage across the board.

The Mechanics

  • Powered by the 3.4 Litre DFI Flat-six, producing a hefty 320hp
  • 7-speed PDK automatic transmission
  • Equipped with Porsche Sport Chrono Package Plus, providing a faster-than-ever throttle response
  • Recently serviced with new brake fluid, spark plugs and coils
  • Engine bay is clean and well-kept, with no major signs of wear or corrosion
It’s clear that this 987 Cayman has been beautifully cared for, and perfectly pampered. The car’s running to the standard you’d expect from a top-quality Porsche, with no major faults, smoke, knocks or leaks being reported by the vendor.

Still seen as one of the best-performing Porsche products of the 21st century, this is bound to be a superb addition to your garage.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
