Not content with playing Mini at its own game with the launch of the reimagined 500 in 2007, Fiat Group went one further in 2013 by bringing back a glorious name from its racing heritage.
The Abarth 595 recalled the giant killing antics of the 500 touring cars of the 1960s, frequently seen doing battle on circuits with V8 Fords and Chevrolets.
The modern interpretation would of the Abarth 595 became a head-to-head rival with the Mini Cooper S, but with an even bigger dose of character and superbly sharp driving dynamics. It's no surprise, then, that the 595 became a big hit with enthusiastic drivers and today makes for a massively entertaining high performance supermini with a huge amount of gusto.
