The Appeal

Introduced towards the end of the Japanese motorcycle’s golden era in Britain and Europe, the CD250 presented enthusiasts with an economical, durable twin with all the charms of late 80s design.

Today, these bikes are highly sought after by enthusiasts and are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as time passes.

Presented today is an excellent chance to obtain a restored example of one of these rare beauties, that the current keeper has genuinely treasured.

This CD250 has been rebuilt with a host of new parts, and now yearns to be enjoyed out on the open road.

The History and Paperwork

  • Rebuilt example
  • MOT until July 2023
  • V5C document present

The current keeper has long been an avid fan of the CD250 and obtained this beauty after quite some time searching for the right example.

Throughout its time with the current keeper, this bike has received a light restoration, with a few further modifications to enhance the cafe racer styling. It is with great reluctance and due to lack of space that the current keeper has now decided it is time for this little Honda to find its next home.

Although not a great deal of paperwork is present with the vehicle, the V5C document is present, and the lucky new keeper will receive a small collection of spare/original parts.

The Exterior

  • New seat
  • Restored exterior
  • Rebuilt wheels
  • Excellent condition

Having been lightly restored by the current keeper, this cafe racer-inspired CD250 now looks absolutely fantastic for its age.

As the images reflect, there are only a few very minor blemishes to note, with a slight crack to the side battery cover being the most noticeable. That being said, any minor defects hardly detract from the overall appearance and can be easily rectified if desired.

Accompanying the freshly painted tank and frame are the on-theme wire-spoke wheels, which were rebuilt at considerable expense with new spokes. The wheels now sport a coat of black paint and are in excellent condition.

The Mechanics

  • 233cc twin
  • New suspension
  • MOT until July 2023
  • Recently restored
  • Additional suspension included

Buyers will be pleased to know that this Honda CD250 fires up right away, and is said to perform without fault.

Although the vehicle has MOT until next July, the bike is yet to see significant use on the road following its rebuild and is ready to be enjoyed.

Although no mechanical or electrical faults are present, it should be noted that the side lock box currently doesn’t have a matching key. As such, this is something that the new owner may have to tackle at some stage in the future.

Otherwise, this bike leaves very little to be further desired and will no doubt impress with its characterful performance on the road.

Summary

This CD250 presents a rare opportunity to own one of the rarer classic Honda motorcycles, seldom seen on today’s roads.

This bike has been treasured by the current keeper and following a recent light restoration, is now ready to be enjoyed by a lucky new keeper.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000 £100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000 to £100,000 £500.00
£100,000+ £1000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
