This beautiful 1961 Triumph TR3a, resplendent in Signal Red paint with black interior is ready to hit the roads and take you anywhere with its powerful 2. 2 wet liner engine running Weber 45 DCOE’s with a lightened and balanced bottom end, fast road camshaft, worked head etc producing around 130bhp. Coupled to this is a fully rebuilt 4 speed with A type overdrive gearbox. A fully rebuilt rear axle finishes off the driveline.
A brief history of the vehicle. It was acquired by the current owner while he was working in America. It was repatriated into the UK in 1982.
TR Enterprises were then commissioned to carry out a full restoration of the vehicle to ‘fast road’ specification. Late 2003 TRE started the restoration, chassis first. This was back to bare metal, repaired, strengthened and painted in 2k gloss black. Suspension was fully rebuilt using new parts where possible and set up with ‘spirited driving’ in mind. The engine, gearbox and back axle were also rebuilt. Late 2004 saw TR Enterprises start the task of restoring the bodyshell, the shell was in good condition to start with so the normal floors and minor repairs sorted the car was prepared and painted to the standard expected from TRE using modern (for that time) water based products. The shell was completed middle 2006.
At the start of 2007 TR Enterprises was then commissioned to build the car up to an MOT’d state, this was completed January 2007. It was then delivered to the current owner who finished off the trimming, brightwork etc. After roughly 16 months the car was complete, a fresh MOT in May 2008 showed the car had a reconditioned speedo fitted in that time, hence the mileage was set back to zero. The vehicle has covered a little over 2000 miles since 2008.
Rack and pinion steering is fitted, electric cooling fan, painted wire wheels ad a host of other desirable options.
The interior is still fresh as the day it was restored, the same with the body and paint.
This TR3a come with it’s soft top & sidescreens (white) and a factory hard top.
Viewing is desirable, driving is essential!!
Will come fully serviced and with 12 months MOT (even though MOT exempt we always MOT our vehicles)
