This TR5 was built on 23rd May 1968 and dispatched to Station Garage in Amersham 4th June 1968. A matching numbers car, desirable for what is arguably the most desirable of the TR range. Resplendent in it’s factory colours of Triumph Racing Green coachwork and black interior. It left the factory as a soft top model but now has a surrey roof assembly with aluminium top fitted.
The mileage of just over 90, 000 we believe is genuine, backed up by the massive history file that goes back to the early 1970’s!! A Heritage certificate is with the history.
Standard 2500cc injected engine pulls very well on the road, the overdrive gearbox is a delight to use
Previous owner has owned this TR5 since 2005, he is a long standing Triumph man, having owned many other TR’s in the past. This car has been looked after in his custodianship that’s for sure!! It has been used as it should and has seen many roads abroad on their various trips with the TR Register & friends.
A bare metal respray was carried out by marque specialists TR Enterprises, where it had 3 outer wings replaced with original items along with various repairs. It still looks as good as the day it was finished. The engine bay is presentable, please see the pictures. The interior is very nice, with the addition of a Retro Sound model one radio and a working CB system!
The brakes and suspension have been overhauled, poly bushed suspension all round. The front discs are vented items. The TR has done 20000 miles since 2008, regularly serviced and receipts to show all work carried out.
If you want a very presentable, superb driving TR5 then this is the one. The history file is fantastic, receipts going back to the early 70’s, MOT’s dating back to 1983. TR5 handbook is present in the file.
