Description
The first of the "modern era" Aston Martins, DB9 was designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker and launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003. Production started at Aston Martin’s new headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire in 2004 and the car quickly became a success for the company.
DB9 shared a number of similarities with its elder stable mate, the Newport Pagnell produced Vanquish which was still in production in 2004, including a bonded aluminium chassis and the same 6 litre V12 engine. However there the differences ended and the DB9 marked a step change in technology and production methods.
VX06 FRD is one of the original pre-face lift cars which date from before the advent of robot painting at Gaydon, a change in production methods that took many years to be perfected by the company, and thus has the benefit of being a truly hand finished car.
With less than 6, 700 miles on the clock, she is as you would expect, in exceptional condition. Bosting a full Aston Martin main dealer service history and wanting for nothing, we think this is one of the very best examples of this, the purest form of the original design.
Finished in Celeste Blue with contrasting Caspian Blue/ Magnolia interior, colours which suit the understated and elegant styling of DB9, as with all DB9’s 60mph is less than 5 seconds away and a top speed of nearly 190mph was claimed by the manufacturer.
