1970 Series 2A SWB 2. 25 petrol.
First registered 10 February 1970
Finished in lovely pastel green (LRC005) or light green as it’s often referred to as used on the series vehicles between 1959 and 1984.
Restored a year or so ago this lovely LR has been subject to a full in depth rebuild and restoration by an enthusiast who has restored many series 2’s and 3’s over the past 15 years.
It has just been through the workshop and is now ready for sale.
Currently showing an unverified 73, 957 miles.
This is a brief resume of the level and detail of works carried out:
Starting with a new Richards galvanised chassis it has been professionally restored and rebuilt including engine strip and rebuild with hardened valve seats for unleaded and all new bearings/ seals chains and new zenith carb. The engine runs beautifully quiet with a lovely sound through the stainless exhaust.
Gearbox has been restored, new bearings, bulk rings, intermediate shaft etc and all running gear stripped and rebuilt including correct leaf springs, shocks, axles, brake overhaul, exhaust and new tyres.
Bulkhead has been restored professionally and all box sections waxed with Dinitrol.
Total new AutoSparks electric system with new loom.
3 new deluxe front seats with correct rear mounting bar for seat belts.
The whole body was taken back to bare metal where necessary and epoxy primed with 3 coats of 2 pack Pastel Green paint to a lovely gloss finish.
All panels were painted before being fitted up with subframes, bonnet etc so the dome rivets are correct aluminium colour and not bodged over in paint !
New Under Covers Canvas Hood in sand colour with side windows.
All galvanised cappings, grille and hood sticks all re-plated as new.
All nuts and bolts / fixings have either been re-plated or replaced with Stainless steel as necessary.
Towbar fitted with full electrics.
A cool looking Series 2A that somebody else has spent a huge amount of time and expense restoring and is now ready for adventures anywhere you want.
