Minervas are the licence-built Series 1, manufactured in Belgium, largely for the Belgian military, and this is an ex-military example. All are left-hand drive. Most of them were little-used and spent most of their time in storage, and this seems to have been one of them. With the value of decent Series 1 models rising so quickly, a decent Minerva represents the most cost-effective way into Series 1 ownership.
This one is resolutely original including it’s 2. 0 engine and well-patinated military paint etc, and is fitted with a new Exmoor trim hood and seat cushions, rear bench seat, rear mounted jerrycan, NATO towhook and civilian towbar.
It drives superbly, and has an excellent chassis (seemingly never been welded) and bulkhead, has an odometer reading of 23000kms, and is fully UK registered with both MOT and road tax exemption. We've just had the entire ignition system (including the distributor) replaced, so it's now running like a sewing machine.
