Description
We acquired this early MGB pull door handle roadster in California, USA. It is an abandoned project, that requires a complete restoration. This MG originally had a white body, with red interior.
The unibody of this MGB needs structural repair work (new inner and outer sills, new floors and general body work). Restoration work carried out so far was limited to cutting out the rusty floor pans and some further disassembly.
All mechanical components will probably require a complete rebuild. The engine turns by hand, but its condition is unknown. It is a period original 18G 3 bearing engine, that, according to the engine number, is believed to be original to the car. Standard 4-speed gearbox, without overdrive. The rear axle has an additional ID tag and was probably rebuilt in the past. The fuel tank is no longer with the car, as it had rusted through. Also, the car needs a new fuel pump. The MG is equiped with painted wire wheels (spare wheel included) and a tonneau cover.
The interior needs to be completely refurbished. Black vinyl seats, still in usable condition. Steel dashboard with complete set of gauges, with odometre indicating 12. 604 mls. Non-original sports steering wheel (Moto Lita type). It needs a new windshield, a carpet set and convertible top (frame included). 1 key.
Apart from the windshield glass, fuel tank and fuel pump, this MGB appears to be complete.
