Head-turning’ takes on a new meaning when driving a piece of automotive history. Given that classic cars are now thought of as a sound investment opportunity, it also makes sense to note that the best Healey was saved for last, with the Austin-Healey Mk3, launched in 1964. Although the looks remained largely the same as the MK 11, this was the most powerful Austin-Healey with 148bhp for a maximum speed of 121mph.
The Austin Healey 3000 is indeed a British marque, built between 1958 and 67, and is the best known of the ‘big’ Healey models.

Sold new in 1964 in the States, this car was first registered in New Zealand in 1990.
Worth mentioning here is that one would need circa NZD180K nowadays to restore one of these cars to this standard, which makes them greatly undervalued.
Experience the joy of open top motoring with the best of British. These are the great cars that came along before global warming was invented. The Healey was absolutely mind blowing whether that being style, looks or performance. Definitely, one of the nicest and cleanest examples in New Zealand.
