The Jaguar E-type or also Jaguar XK-E is a model of car manufacturer Jaguar Cars of which three generations were built between 1961 and 1974. The E-type marked a revolution in the design, performance and control of sports cars. The price was a lot lower than that of the competing models, so sales were high. More than 70, 000 copies were sold in fourteen years. The Jaguar E-type is in first place in the Top sports cars of the 60s list.

After Jaguar achieved a number of successes in the 1950s with the Jaguar D-Type at the 24-hour Le Mans, it was decided to develop a new sports car to replace the Jaguar XK150. The E-type was given a revolutionary body design by Malcolm Sayer, who had previously designed aircraft at the Bristol Airplane Company. The curves and indentations were not only for the ornamental but were precisely calculated aerodynamic forms. Sayer's secret weapon was to stick wool strings on the car and thereby study the airflow when the car was in the wind tunnel. He also had the car photographed with wool strings when driving outside in different weather conditions.

This specimen exudes nothing but pure class and sportiness, the definition of Jaguar Racing Green! What a picture. Everyone who comes to us walks around it a few times, a truly timeless model. The Series III, built from 1971 to 1974, got the new Jaguar 5. 3 liter V12 under the hood, along with improved brakes and standard power steering. The FHC was stopped and the Series 3 was only available as an OTS cabriolet and 2 + 2 coupé. The OTS also used the extended chassis of the 2 + 2. The Series 3 further distinguished itself with a different radiator grille, rimmed wheel arches and V12 on the trunk logo.

This series 3 was originally delivered in English in the early summer of 1974 and was owned by the first owner until 1999. In that year the Jaguar was taken over by the last owner who had it professionally restored in 2000 in Beauly (UK). This entire restoration is fully documented with photos, invoices and other documentation, which can of course be viewed with us. An impressive summary. Both the interior and the exterior are in very good condition to this day, also technically the Jag is in order. Everything original and matching numbers. Just as it should be.
