EQUIPMENT
4-Speed manual gearbox with overdrive, Original piped black leather upholstery, Wire wheels, Wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel, Heater, Folding soft-top, Full tonneau cover, Front disc brakes, Adjustable shocks front and rear, Seat belts, Ash tray, Spare wheel, Indoor car cover, Spare keys, Heritage certificate.

EXTERIOR
The quintessentially British green paintwork presents to a very high standard all round, with a lovely deep shine and uniform colour across every panel. There are no unsightly marks or scratches to be found either to the bodywork or bumpers, the lights also remaining crystal clear front and rear. On close inspection the plentiful brightwork still retains a lovely mirror finish, and both the tonneau cover and hood present as new with no rips in the fabric or damage to the rear screen. A splendid example, ready to show.

INTERIOR
The classic interior presents beautifully throughout. Pleasingly the original piped leather upholstery is still retained, although in recent years the seats have been treated to all new foam cushions making for a very comfortable ride. The lovely wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel feels great in hand and across the dash the switchgear still feels solid to operate. Elsewhere, the door cards and carpet show very few signs of age, with the rubber floor mats also in fantastic condition. The boot area is in fine order too, complete with the spare wheel and tools.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Although very similar in appearance to the MGB, under the bonnet the MGC is a different beast altogether. It sports a 2. 9-litre straight-six with twin SU carbs, giving 145hp and a top speed of 120mph. This particular example is equipped with the 4-speed manual gearbox and factory overdrive option. The car performs exceptionally well on test, really instilling the driver with confidence. The accompanying history file shows the MG to have been well maintained over the years, with larger works including a full strip down and rebuild of the engine 12k miles ago and a new clutch around 4k miles ago.

WHEELS, TYRE AND BRAKES
The chrome wire wheels are in excellent shape and are shod in a matching set of Continental tyres, as fitted in March 2020 at the current mileage. Brake-wise, the calipers were fully overhauled circa 5k miles ago and fitted with new pads, and the rear shoes were replaced about 1k miles ago.

HISTORY FILE
The MGC was first registered in March 1968; it was supplied new by Marshalsea Brothers Limited in Taunton, Somerset. In April 2000 the car underwent a major restoration, however shortly after completion the owner passed away and so it remained unused until 2005. The current owner purchased the MG in September 2009 and has treasured it ever since.

The accompanying History File is packed full of invoices for regular maintenance and various improvements carried out over the years. The car benefitted from a full engine rebuild just 12k miles ago and has enjoyed plenty of mechanical attention since then. Most recently we have had a full inspection carried out by our trusted classic car specialists for the new keeper’s peace of mind. The paperwork is complete with a raft of MOT certificates, an original MGC handbook, spare keys, some nice period documents and a Heritage certificate confirming the car’s factory production data.
