1926/1939 Attenborough Special For Sale

1926/ 1939 Attenborough Special

In 1933 the Proprietors of the Attenborough Garage (Messrs Haless and Stokes), put together a Special for Captain W. E. Bingley. Like all Special builders they used what was readily available to them at the time, so the completed vehicle had parts from all over the place. The engine which remains with it today was used in the Atom Aston Martin. The chassis was a 1926 Fraser Nash demonstrator chassis. Dry sump. The car has a continuous ownership history and the changes that have been made follow through to today in the documentation that comes with the car. It is included in John Bateman’s wonderful book, The Enthusiasts Guide to Vintage Specials and Bill Boddy’s book on Specials. Recently serviced by GMT racing. This wonderful single seat Special has been racing its entire life. It is still blistering fast. Comes with VSCC logbooks, invoices, handwritten letters, etc.
