Currently the car is registered in my name and located in Guernsey (The Channel Islands). originally it was a Jersey Channel Islands supplied car by St. Helier Garages, transferred to St. Peter Port Garages and sold locally in June 1992 to a local architect, then to a lady owner until 1997 and then on to me as the 3rd registered owner earlier this year.

This is not a difficult car to describe because if you are reading this advert you certainly know what it is you’re looking for. These M100’s are fantastic and very understated and overlooked vehicles. A reliable Isuzu engine combined with Lotus styling, and the Lotus driving experience to suit. Whats not to like? I’m amazed I never owned one before and with 90’s cars coming of age a great little future classic too, with great styling and amazing looks.

Its a great little car, it has all the tell tail signs of a low mileage car, the spare space saver wheel and tools under the rear floor tray, all looking complete and looking unused. Silly little details like the wiring harnesses under the bonnet still have their factory paper tags on them. I like It so much I’m selling it as I don't want to turn it in to a daily hack, and ruin its originality and why else would I be selling it you may ask? I have several cars, and I have had this car as a summer car having purchased it from a family friend who owned it as the second owner since 1997, so I know the car well. She had maintained the car throughout her ownership, and the service history is simple as the car has covered just over 27, 320 miles from new, all those miles were done on Jersey and Guernsey roads it never having left the Channel Islands since new. It was her daily driver for many years and garaged in between use. I was given the opportunity to own it and did some light recomissioning works when I was offered it, it having been just started and run up to temperature over the past 7 years with little road use so I did the following, firstly a clean and a hoover. Since using it I have done a few little jobs such as I replaced the radiator for a coolex unit (original unit is boxed and will come with the car as it had a small pinhole), as part of doing this job I also changed some of the coolant hoses, I replaced the thermostat, flushed the system through and replaced the anti-freeze coolants, and checked the coolant system, checked the heater valve works as it should, also checking the temperature sensor, auxiliary water pump and fans all are working correctly and coming on at the correct running temperatures. I also have removed the popup headlamp motors to replace the nylon trunions which had started to break down as they do, greased and serviced them and they work correctly. I have driven the vehicle this summer as my daily driver for 900+ trouble free miles, and enjoyed every minute of it, it starts at the turn of the key and drives like a modern day car. I’m amazed at how nice they are to drive too, for a 30 year old car and will keep using it until its sold, so the mileage will rise a little.

The exterior paint is nice and tidy with a few age related marks, wheels are clean and original, hood is clean as is the interior, the engine bay is as original, but could do with an enthusiasts tender touch as I would think it was only ever looked upon by the service agents, or me recently. There are signs of surface rust on some items underside, but in general its all solid and clean with green paint marks on the bolts from the original build, a little Lotus enthusiast tlc required here and there, but a car that can be used and enjoyed straight away and do these jobs as weekend hobbies jobs..

Here is a great opportunity for you to own a future classic Lotus, with a superb colour combination (same colour as The Earls Court Motor Show Car) at an entry level price to owning a reliable and useable open top low mileage low owner classic car.

Being a classic car enthusiast I would still advise serious buyers to come and see the vehicle in person, or alternatively send a capable mechanic with knowledge of the mark to view it and do a report on your behalf, its being 'sold as seen', but if you agree to seeing photos or the advert only, then it will be taken that you accept those terms and chose to take as unseen, so if you can visit to be sure, please do...
