The car was brought from Spain in 2020 and is now properly UK registered with the V5C in my name. Previous owner purchased the car from a Portuguese driver in 2017 who had restored it using a new Tony Thompson 26R chassis and lightweight bodyshell and raced it in Portugal, Spain and at the Nurburgring. The Spanish owner only did 2 races in Spain in 2018 and the car has not been competed with since. Accordingly it would benefit for a full check/ refresh before returning to the track.
On arrival in the UK, it has needed various items changing to ensure compliance with FIA Appendix K, including replacing the gearbox.
It is now to correct 1965 Elan 26R specification in accordance with FIA Homolation form #127, and has freshly issued FIA HTP papers which are valid until December 2031.
The belts and Tillet seat are both "in date", but the plumbed in extinguisher has expired and will need servicing or replacement.
The roll cage is a brand new, homologated one from Safety Devices as required for the FIA papers.
Have just weighed the car and it is 582 kgs with 10 litres of fuel on board. Minimum homologation weight is 580 kgs.
Car is with me in West Sussex.
