First introduced in 1962, the MG MGB was British Motor Corporation’s lightweight, affordable 2 door sports car set to beat MG’s rivals and take the world by storm. With numerous models over the years, the roadster variant is arguably one of the most iconic British classic cars of all time. Over the years, the MGBs and particularly the roadster variant, have developed an almost cult-like following, with one of the largest aftermarket communities in the world.

This MGB was originally built in 1976 and was exported to the United States much like many other MGB’s at the time due to their popularity and lived in San Carlos, California. The MGB returned home to the UK in 97, where it obtained a heritage certificate and began a major restoration and conversion to RHD. There is plenty of paperwork included with the vehicle covering its restoration, parts fitted and work undergone.

This vehicle has truly been the pride and joy of its owner, and is now looking for it’s next home, where it will continue to be cared for and adored.

The amount of organised paperwork this vehicle comes with certainly shouldn't be overlooked, with plenty of receipts for work carried out, new parts, certificates and much more.

Throughout the years the vehicle was restored, the current owner has compiled a helpful list of each part and work carried out, up until the restoration completion.

This car has been taken care of by an MG specialist, and with receipts for over £20, 700 from quality suppliers such as Moss, MG Mecca, the MGOC the vehicle’s new owner can have confidence that the vehicle has been maintained and built to a very high standard.

The condition can only be described as outstanding, please take a good look at the photos. Condition is outstanding.

Adding to the Stage 2 conversion with gas flowed head and Overdrive, in 2020 new twin SU carbs were fitted along with Power Assisted Steering, new front suspension, adjustable rear shocks, timing chain, Lumenitition electronic ignition kit and a stainless steel sports exhaust which sounds just great. Around £5k spent in total.

With a fresh carb retune as recent as July 2021, this MG is ready to hit the summer lanes.

The interior has been fitted with period low back seats from a ‘64 Roadster for that true classic look.

This MGB features the stunning 3 Spoke Moto-Lita steering wooden steering wheel, which contrasts beautifully dark interior.

The Exterior

This MGB’s paintwork is in excellent condition, believed to have been repainted in 1999, and still looks
incredible to this day. In addition to the stunning paintwork, the vehicle’s chrome trim pieces and bumpers are in shiny new condition.

Although not certain we are of the understanding that the shell is a replacement Heritage body shell due to the fact it is totally solid with no signs of any welding and factory perfect panel gaps and still in full body colour underneath.

The black soft top and hood frame are in excellent condition, there is also a full and half tonneau cover.

The icing on the cake are the classy wire spoke wheels all round, with 4 new matching tyres for the new owner to enjoy and even a full size spare in the boot. The soft top hood frame are in great condition, with only the slightest of marks for the age of the vehicle and there’s also a full and half tonneau cover. When you take the roof down for a sunny day, you’ll also be able to see that all fixing points are in great condition with no faults.

The styling of an MGB is truly iconic and continues to outshine modern cars to this day. This stunning example is no different and will surely continue to attract the gaze of onlookers wherever it goes.

Mileage showing as 78, 371, however if you check the MOT history it could be closer to 20k.
