-The Delorean DMC-12 is a stainless icon, made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster trilogy “Back to the Future.” It is safe to say the Delorean is the world’s most famous movie car.

-The DMC-12 was the dream car of John Z. Delorean, American car engineer and arguable the inventor of the American “muscle car.” Power is provided by the rear-mounted V6 2. 85 litre PRV engine, the power being delivered to the rear wheels via automatic transmission.

-This Delorean was imported from the USA in 2014, a copy of the original New Jersey Certificate of Title is included with the car documentation. Much restoration work was carried out by Delorean Europe in 2014/ 15, details are on the service file. Work has included suspension overhaul, rebuild of the braking system, AC overhaul, binnacle recover, refurbishing of wheels, engine overhaul and restoration of the interior and trim, with over 20, 000 being invested in the car. The car odometer displays the current mileage of 42, 364.

KEY FEATURES

The DMC-12 was built in the Dunmurry car factory in Belfast Northern Ireland, the dream of the motoring icon John DeLorean. Other legendary names of the era also had a lasting input into this vehicle including the renowned Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and the head of Lotus Colin Chapman. Between them they produced this unique car that boasts an outer brushed stainless steel body covering a fibreglass shell.

The interior is trimmed in black leather with matching DMC mats and much has been spent on bring the cabin back to its former factory condition, with the inclusion of a new rear cargo net, re-trimmed binnacle and new DMC car mats. The one blemish in the interior is wrinkling on the LH side of the dash behind the binnacle, the material is not cracked or split, and an image has been included of this for completeness.

Included with the car is a file of receipts detailing the work that has been carried out on the car, a copy of the New Jersey Title dated to 1985, the cars owners manual. Since the cars export from the USA over 20, 000 has been spent on this vehicle. In addition the car comes with the owners wallet and handbook and paperwork, a De Lorean Workshop Manual, and a collection of DMC Magazines all in excellent condition. CONDITION

There has been no known bodywork damage. One corner of the front bumper has some minor damage and an image is included of this, the stainless steel body work of the car as can be seen from the photographs is in very good condition. All doors open and close as they should, gas rams on the bonnet and engine cover also work correctly.

The grey leather trimmed interior is complete and in good condition. The carpets have some minor use marks on the drivers side sill, pictures included as to give as honest an impression of the car as possible. New interior original DMC floor mats are included.

There are no known electrical or mechanical faults. The car starts and drives well.
