Now Harold has undergone a sympathetic restoration over the last 10 years and recently just put back on the road. My customer is an avid classic car collector and likes his vehicles spot on. We have covered over £4k of work in the previous months to make it as good as possible.
Below is a list of Harolds' specification-
* CHASSIS This was carefully gone through throughout the restoration. We recently needle gunned and undersealed it. It is one of the best original chassis I have seen. Please see pictures.
* BULKHEAD- This had now footwells and is now free from corrosion. It will prove trouble free for years to come.
* ENGINE- This is the correct 2 litre albeit from an earlier model. Engine number is from a 1952. We have just rebuilt the head and skimmed it. We also inspected the pistons and bores and were in excellent condition. There was nothing wrong, just my customer wanted to know it was 100%. We have fitted new gaskets and now runs like a swiss watch.
* GEARBOX- This is also completely sound and changes gear without fault.
* UNDERNEATH- We have done much work here. New diff seals, shocks etc. We have receipts for works carried out.
* INSIDE- This is as nice as the outside. Present and correct are the series 1 Lucas wipers. Many period features also include the Smiths heater. To the front are 3 Exmoor trim seats. To the rear there are 2 expensive Exmoor trim galvanised bench seats. All seats appear to be new. There is a quality rear load mat to protect the floor.
* OUTSIDE- Bodywork is charming and very presentable. Harold looks very good for his age, must have had some botox! Bodywork is really straight yet still looks nice and original. The Exmoor trim hood is new and tyres appear recent. It really has had it all done ready for its new home. To the rear is a useful tow bar. Has a nice registration number "DYJ73".
So all in all this is a great opportunity to purchase a well sorted Series 1 that should prove reliable. It is ready to use and enjoy. Superb in the snow and even better with the hood off and the wind in your hair. No mot or tax to pay for plus these are increasing weekly in value. This is the reason we sell these so quickly. Comes with a comprehensive folder of receipts with bills totalling well over £10k. Priced at £19995 this is super value for money. We can deliver this worldwide, please call Anthony on the details below for further information.
