Very nice unrestored original condition.
Affectionately known as Charlie Simson.
Charlie has been a very lucky chap as he has spent most of his life being cared for and cherished by just three owners in 35 years. In 1987 Charlie was peacefully gazing out of the window of Regent Street motors in Kettering when he caught the eye of a young Missy Karen. Missy Karen fell for his good looks and simple but strong engineering. It was love at first sight and they spent over a year together whizzing around the streets of Kettering. In late 1988 his rugged good looks charmed a Master Stefen and after some negotiation Charlie found himself living in a new home on the other side of Kettering. This new home offered the sort of luxury accommodation that few motorcycles ever get to experience. A warm dry and carpeted garage to rest in and only used for leisurely rides in fine weather. Charlie felt settled and stayed with Master Stefan for the next 28 years. He was well looked after, regularly serviced and polished to keep him in tip top condition.
As the years passed Master Stefan found himself increasing busy and distracted by modern life so poor Charlie was left idle for some time. He desperately wanted to be out and about exploring the country side and taking in the views. In 2016 it was all change for Charlie again. Master Stafan found he had a free weekend but Charlie wouldn’t start, even a new battery and some fresh petrol wouldn’t wake him from his hibernation, so he was shipped off to F2 Motorcycles for some urgent care.
David at F2 soon found the dried out crank seals that were the cause of the refusal to run. Charlie was treated to a lovely new set of seals, a good service and a few other bits and bobs to make him feel special and loved again. After such a long period of being shut in a nice warm garage Charlie was keen to get out and about. A bond was building between Charlie and David so when Master Stefan came to collect him a conversation was had with the result that Charlie would change ownership once more to live at F2 Motorcycles.
That was 5 years ago and Charlie is still happy but is considering moving on to investigate pastures new. He has a lovely new MOT, a fresh battery and a new service. He runs without fault and is ideally looking for a new home with a mechanically able owner who can meet his simple needs and somewhere nice and dry to rest between outings.
