Description
Here for sale is this stunning, fully restored, 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 MK III, finished in Rare Healey Ice Blue. This Particular car has had a complete nut and bolt rebuild by Granville Engineering, London and has been meticulously preserved by a very careful owner ever since. This car - 'DRS 266D' was first registered on the 24th of October 1966 and, after all the work, it was re-registered on the 1st of January 2016. Finished with blue leather upholstery and blue wool carpets, and rides on the correct 13-inch 72 spoke 'Wire' wheels. The work carried out includes an extensive bodywork renovation, and complete professional nut and bolt rebuild in the best mechanical order possible. All original features remain, and the results are simply stunning. All matching vin/ chassis numbers.
Since its rebuild, this example currently has only 1, 100 miles on the clock. The car comes with all its documentation in a folder, including owner manuals, heritage certificate, and numerous invoices for the work completed totalling over £50, 000. This car has very rarely seen the road at all and only in dry conditions. This beautiful Healey 3000 is a suitable acquisition for the discerning collector.
Engine - The 3000 Mk III has a naturally-aspirated Inline 6 cylinder engine petrol motor. This engine produces a maximum power of 150 PS, which offers good performance coupled with a good economy, and a smooth delivery of its power. The top speed was also increased to nearly 121mph by way of a ‘fast road’ upgrade. The car itself runs beautifully in both engine and gearbox. As you will be able to tell from the photos, the engine bay is in pristine condition. The Interior of this four-seat Mk III also shows very nicely, thanks to its all new, cohesive upholstery. The boot is tidy and dry, with the correct full size spare strapped to the boot floor.
Exterior - The bodywork is in immaculate condition, with very impressive shut lines and panel gaps throughout. The blue paint is a recent professional coat, as part of its restoration, and looks superb. The same goes for the chrome work looks.
This is an excellent opportunity to own one of the finest British motorcars.
