1997 4. 2 example that has been rebuild at TVR Power to a 4. 5 spec 5000 miles ago (and back in 21/ 12/ 2002). The rebuild is fully documented: Invoices of this rebuild are available and the rebuild has been stamped off in the service book bye TVR Power. Engine makes 70 psi oil pressure on turnover when cold. I purchased the car in 2016 from a garage holder. The chassis had some surface rust at the central beams next to the transmission tunnel, which has been treated with rustconverter by the garage prior to sale. Outriggers are solid. Some surface rust near the exhaust manifold is still there, a thing a lot of the Cerb’s –be it the V8’s or speed 6’s have.
At that time of my purchase the car had 30650 miles and passed it's "MOT" (actually it's overseas technical inspection). The garageholder replaced the starter engine, cleaned the injector, replaced the ignition cables and fuel lines,...
Drivers seat needs to be re-upholstered, A/ C is not working. Apart from that, I drove the car on export plates (but only for about 200 miles) at the time of purchase, without any further mechanical remarks. The car has been sitting in a warmed in-house garage since and gets started regularly but also not too frequently. Car has been sitting since 2016, I planned to have it registered on oldtimer plates in 2027 (30 year rule). Change of plans, therefore it may be sold.
