The 130 was Fiats attempt to compete with the likes of Mercedes and BMW. The saloon appeared first in 1969 but it's interior was deemed too 'plasticy' and the 2800cc however sonorous engine, underpowered. It was replaced with a higher compression 3200cc power plant in 1971 when the coupe was released, this was designed by Poalo Martin at Pininfarina who also did the interior which was far more satisfactory and carried over to the saloon. Contempory road tests of the time were very impressed with the cars handling, Motor saying 'seldom have we encountered such excellent handling in a car of this size. Its superbly balanced feel inspires tremendous confidence, allowing high averages to be achieved without conscious driver effort' The car had fully independent suspension, disc brakes all round, could be ordered with a Borg Warner auto gearbox or a ZF S5 18 5 speed which was shared along with the diff and rear suspension with the 2400 Fiat Dino Coupes and Spiders although limited slip was optional.

An extremely original car that has never been accident damaged and is utterly rust free, and drives exactly as it should.
