1956 Moto Guzzi Ercole Unique!! Restored condition For Sale

They call it a Motocarri in Italy: Three-wheeled vehicles intended to transport goods. We all have heard of the Ape, the little vehicle with a cabin and pick-up. Moto Guzzi enlarged it calling it a Motocarro or Mototriciclo. This beautiful 1956 Ercole is just the ticket for your firm, but of course would work just as well as a stunning motorbike for the enthusiast of special creations.

The Ercole is one of the longest running of this kind of model. The first post-war version became available in 1946, with production running until the late 70’s. This is one of the larger and sturdier Motocarri. Depending on the version it could handle up to an impressive 1, 500 kg in load! This made the Ercole quite suitable as a heavy load carrier.

The owner of this Guzzi hailed from Padua in Italy. This Guzzi was in service for decades and remained original. The last photo taken just before the restoration shows the motorbike totally intact and that the Ercole was restored to its original state. The one-cylinder 495cc was fully overhauled as can be seen in photos and respective invoice. The frame, pick-up and the rest of the bike has been carefully restored and still is in formidable shape. You will find all the hard work on this Guzzi back in a great drive. The engine block puts out some 16 hp and runs really well. A 5-speed transmission transfers the power to the rear wheels and if you cant quite make the bend this Ercole has a reverse at your disposal. The gear pattern is identical to that of a car.

The hold has a tipper function to quickly release your load, although we suspect you probably will not be using this Guzzi to take your garden waste to the dump in.
The Ercole is accompanied by a reassuring amount of documents, including invoices and a letter from the Piaggio. Archivio Storico. This letter states the motorbike was built on the 7th April 1956 and joined its first owner on the 13th October 1956. There is also an original 1950’s Italian parts book, which is a pleasure to thumb through! The German workshop book is a copy and is there to assist you in any maintenance jobs you need to tackle.
