Here we have for sale, new in at the Bike Specialists, another super rare excellent investment opportunity. The Massimo Tamburini designed Ducati 916 is probably the most influential motorcycle design of the last 30 years and our example is a unique and rare 996 full factory race bike that was raced by Peter Graves.
The bike started its life as a 955 but was bored out to its now 996cc in 1997 by John Hackett (JHP) with 60mm throttle bodies big air box, big radiator and big exhaust system and then in 98 the engine was rebuilt by Chris Mehew and the bike re-framed with a new Pierobon frame.
Graves was born in Hampstead, London, UK. He attended Hampton School before starting a racing career which spanned the years from 1984 to 1999. Peter was a very successful racer, in 96 he finished 10th overall in BSB championship and then in 98 with the introduction of the privateer cup he finished 2nd
