Description
1983 Ford Escort Bantam Pickup. This is a genuine Ford Built Bantam pickup based on the Mk3 Escort and was only available in South Africa. Its RHD and has recently been imported. All tax and duty has been paid and the NOVA registration has been done. It is also now fully Uk Registered and we have the V5 here. It starts runs and drives but will need a restoration.
Body - Ford built Bantam pickup. Good inner wings, crossmember, rear bed, sills. Will need work on both front floors as they are holed. Not covered in underseal so you can see exactly what you are up against. battery tray area looks to have had a previous repair. Bubbling on door bottoms lower wings, rear arches that will all need attended to. Paint is ok but a bit worn as this was a working truck.
Mechanics - 1300 OHV. Car starts , runs and drives . All standard suspension and drivetrain. As with any old car will need a good checkover before blasting down the local B Road. Carb will need adjusting for our climate and it will need a good service as a minimum
Interior - Hard styledash so no cracks. Seats have covers on and are torn underneath. doorcards are useable but again a bit weathered.
Wheels - Refurbished XR3 cloverleaf alloys with good tyres.
These little trucks are getting very hard to find now and the mk3s seem more popular than the mk4s. This one does need a restoration but you are welcome to come and view it so you know exactly what it needs. We have a ramp so you can look underneath.
