The Appeal
To celebrate Tommi Mäkinen’s four consecutive World Rally Championship titles, Mitsubishi produced a special limited edition version of the Lancer Evolution, known as the ‘Evo’ for short. Just 2,500 examples of the Evo 6.5 Tommi Mäkinen were made. Features included a larger air intake and a more prominent splitter, White Enkei Wheels, Recaro sport seats, lowered suspension, a helical front limited-slip differential, a faster-spooling titanium turbocharger, and a front strut brace. Like the cars that helped Mäkinen win his championships, these were seriously capable cars, with 276 bhp straight from the factory.
This 2000 example is in very good original condition, and we’re informed that it drives really well. As the photographs show, the Evo shows minimal signs of wear and its trademark original features remain in exceedingly good order.
It isn’t often these cars come to market, so we’re delighted to offer this great example.
