This is "Ernie" a 1966 Riley Elf MK2 Which I purchased in 2017 from a Blacksmith who had lost his storage for the car and was unable to complete the restoration. The car was subjected to a comprehensive inspection by a well-known company and then stripped to a bare shell and the engine/ gearbox was sent away for a complete rebuild, The shell was dipped and stripped back to bare metal. The shell was rebuilt over 3 years with panels sourced from M Machine and Somerford Mini. The bodywork was rustproofed and underwent Novol Treatment for rust prevention. The bare shell was primed and resprayed Clipper Blue and Old English White before reassembling The rear subframe was replaced and Powder coated as was the front original subframe. The car Hydrolastic Suspension was overhauled and refitted with new pipework. The brakes received all new parts and pipework. The electrics are a mixture of Reconditioned parts and new ones. The wiring harness was built by myself and is customised to enable alternator electrics and 123 Ignition. It also features a Heated Rear Screen, Front Spot Lamps. Rear Fog and Reverse Lights. The Gearbox is a Four Syncro with all new parts and the Engine features and Larger Carburettor and Pre-Engaged Starter Motor. The wipers are three-speed with electric Washers. The Interior is from a Mini Mayfair recovered by A well-known Trim Shop used by Mike Brewer.
