1970/ HAN 10 Austin-Healey Sprite MkIV 1275cc. Finished in stunning Royal Blue, it was only available during this year of production. The car has a full black interior, new wire wheels, and a hub conversion.
After a long period of dry storage, this car underwent a meticulous, professional, complete nut-and-bolt restoration in 2010. The original A’ Series engine was rebuilt to perfection, and repairs were carried out to bring the car back to its original showroom condition. The car is a perfect example of a British sports car that is not customised but true to the original Austin Healey Sprite that came out of the British Leyland factory. The process is well-documented, with photographic history and receipts for all work undertaken during the rebuild. The wheel arches and underneath of the car has been treated with Waxoyl. Renowned garages, such as Haynes Motor Museum and Quantock Classics in Somerset have since maintained the vehicle.
New Additions - 4 x wire wheels and a hub conversion kit, rear springs with shackles and bushes, fuel pump, electronic ignition, clutch slave cylinder, Evans Waterless coolant system, canvas tonneau and wood-rimmed Mota-Lita steering wheel.
Original parts: Heavy-duty vinyl hood with zip-out rear window (helpful accessory for classic car touring), vinyl black boot cover, 5 x Rostyle wheels with fittings (helpful Winter driving option), and the original point/ coil ignition system. I have owned the car since 2010. It's an Austin-Healey Sprite, not an MG Midget! It was designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company and was intended to be a low-cost model of the ‘Big Healey’ that “a chap could keep in his bike shed.” It's now very collectable, and only 12 cars of this model are now licensed in the UK. A small sports car with a straight-through stainless steel exhaust pipe will make you smile and is perfect for darting about the countryside. This entry-level classic car is inexpensive to run, and spare parts are very plentiful. I have attended many classic car rallies with the car, which has always attracted many spectators when on show, so you'll need to gain knowledge of this British sports car manufacturer, Austin-Healey, as you will be asked many questions during the shows! I have kept it clean and well-maintained; owning it has been a joy in the last 14 years.
