Description

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO "ENID".

ENID IS OF LOVELY ORIGINAL CONDITION/ APPEARANCE AND EVER RELIABLE. SHE IS FINISHED IN A RATHER UNUSUAL COLOUR OF LIME FLOWER GREEN WITH A BLACK LEATHERETTE OR VINYL INTERIOR. THIS LOVELY MORRIS MINOR TRAVELLER DRIVES AND STOPS GREAT. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF POUNDS HAVE BEEN SPENT ON HER THROUGH THE YEARS. INDEED WITHIN HER LAST 4000 MILES ENID HAS UNDERGONE EXTENSIVE PROFESSIONAL CHASSIS WORK INCLUDING THE FITTING OF A NEW CROSS MEMBER, NEW REAR FOOTWELLS AND FLOOR PILLARS. HER ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT, SHE ALSO RECEIVED NEW DOOR CHECKS BOTH SIDES, A NEW CLUTCH, ELECTRONIC IGNITION, SERVO BRAKES WITH NEW BRAKE SHOES, DRUMS, HOSES AND CYLINDERS, NEW KING PINS, NEW CYLINDER HEAD, GEAR BOX, AND SPEEDO HEAD CABLE AMONG MANY OTHER NEW PARTS, WHICH ARE TOO MANY TO MENTION HERE. HOWEVER, FULLY DOCUMENTED IN THE EXTENSIVE BUNDLE OF INVOICES WHICH FORM PART OF HER HISTORY FILE.

ENID IS SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE SHE TURNS HEAD WHEREVER SHE TRAVELS AND NO WONDER GIVEN HER UNIQUE COLOUR AND ORIGINAL CONDITION. HER PANELS ARE STRAIGHT AND TRUE. HER GLEAMING LIME FLOWER GREEN PAINTWORK IS IN EXCELLENT ORDER PROVIDING A DEEP SHINE. SHE HAS NO DENTS, SCRATCHES OR SCUFFS ETC. HER WOODWORK IS OF VERY GOOD ORDER, NOT REQUIRING ANY ATTENTION. AS IS HER BRIGHT WORK, WHEELS AND MATCHING TYRES. IN ESSENCE, ENID IS A TRULY CHARMING, SPRIGHTLY AND SOLID ALL ROUND EXAMPLE OF THE CONVETED MORRIS MINOR TRAVELER ESTATE.

ENID'S INTERIOR IS ALSO OF VERY GOOD ORDER, ORIGINAL, CLEAN AND UNCLUTTERED. THERE ARE NO TEARS, UNSIGHTLY SCUFFS OR MARKS, SIGNS OF WEAR OR DISCOLORATION. ALL OF HER ATTRIBUTES REMAIN INTACT FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED, COMFORTABLE AND PLEASANT TO THE EYE.

HER CHASSIS AND UNDERCARRIAGE IS CLEAN AND SOLID IN ALL AREAS, AS ARE THE FLOOR PANS ETC, WHERE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS HAVE BEEN INVESTED. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF RUST/ ROT ANYWHERE.

THE BOOT - AGAIN VERY CLEAN, SOLID AND UNCLUTTERED.

ENGINE BAY - AS PER THE BOOT.

ENGINE - HER ENGINE IS SPRIGHTLY AND RESPONSIVE, SHE STARTS THE FIRST TIME OF ASKING EVERY TIME AND IS VERY RELIABLE.

TRANSMISSION - HER 4 SPEED SYNCROMESH MANUAL GEARBOX IS LIKE HER ENGINE, AGILE, RESPONSIVE AND SMOOTH TO THE CHANGE.

BRAKES - COMPLETELY NEW BRAKES WERE FITTED TO ENID WITHIN HER LAST 4000 MILES - SO THEY ARE SPOT ON!

ENID WAS RECENTLY TREATED TO A FULL SERVICE AND OIL CHANGE, SHE IS RUNNING PERFECTLY.

ALL IN ALL, THIS OLD LADY IS A FANTASTIC AND MUCH ADMIRED MORRIS MINOR TRAVELLER. SHE NEVER FAILS TO BRING AN INSTANT AND ENDURING SMILE OF PRIDE AND SATISFACTION. SHE ALSO REPRESENTS A GENUINE PIECE OF BRITISH MOTORING HISTORY.

ENID HAVING BEEN BUILD DURING 1971 IS AMONG THE LAST OF THE MORRIS MINOR TRAVELLER TO BE PRODUCED. HAVING ATTAINED THE AGE OF 53 YEARS SHE'S RECORDED AS A HISTORIC VEHICLE AND WHILE SHE IS MOT, ULEZ CONGESTION AND TAX EXEMPT, SHE NONETHELESS, HAS A CURRENT ADVISORY FREE MOT WHICH DOES NOT EXPIRE UNTIL 17 MARCH 2025.

IN HER LIFETIME, ENID HAS HAD MERELY 7 KEEPERS. SHE IS PART OF A PRIVATE CAR COLLECTION AND ONLY USED SPARINGLY IN DRY/ WARM WEATHER CONDITIONS. INDEED, OVER THE PAST 18 YEARS THIS CHERISHED CAR HAS MERELY COVERED AROUND 40000 MILES WHICH EQUATES TO CIRCA 2200 MILES IN EACH OF THOSE 18 YEARS. ENID AS SHE PRESENTS TODAY, IS A CREDIT TO HER KEEPERS AND HER MARQUE. SHE IS ALSO A CLEAR INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY, ALIGNED TO IN-EXPENSIVE CLASSIC CAR OWNERSHIP, ENJOYMENT WITH NATURAL PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP AND AS STATED A PIECE OF GENUINE BRITISH MOTORING HISTORY.

ENID'S CURRENT TOTAL MILEAGE IS 103558 MILES, WHICH EQUATES TO AN ANNUAL MILEAGE OVER HER 53 YEARS OF LESS THAN 2000 MILES PER ANNUM.

THANK YOU. THE MORRIS MINOR IS AN ECONOMY CAR PRODUCED BY BRITISH MARQUE MORRIS MOTORS BETWEEN 1948 AND 1971. IT MADE ITS DEBUT AT THE EARL'S COURT MOTOR SHOW, LONDON, IN OCTOBER 1948. DESIGNED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF ALEC ISSIGONIS, MORE THAN 1. 6 MILLION WERE MANUFACTURED IN THREE SERIES: THE SERIES MM (1948 TO 1953), THE SERIES II (1952 TO 1956), AND THE 1000 SERIES (1956 TO 1971).

INITIALLY AVAILABLE AS A 2-DOOR SALOON AND TOURER CONVERTIBLE, THE RANGE WAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE A 4-DOOR SALOON FROM SEPTEMBER 1950. AN ESTATE CAR WITH A WOODEN FRAME (THE TRAVELLER) WAS PRODUCED FROM OCTOBER 1952 AND A PANEL VAN AND PICKUP TRUCK FROM MAY 1953. IT WAS THE FIRST BRITISH CAR TO SELL OVER A MILLION UNITS, AND IS CONSIDERED A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF BRITISH AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN.

AS STATED THE ESTATE VERSION KNOWN AS "THE TRAVELLER" (A MORRIS NAMING TRADITION FOR ESTATES ALSO SEEN ON THE MINI) WAS INTRODUCED IN 1952. "THE TRAVELLER" FEATURED AN EXTERNAL STRUCTURAL WITH ASH (WOOD) FRAME FOR THE REAR BODY WORK, AND TWO SIDE-HINGED REAR DOORS. THE ASH FRAME WAS VARNISHED RATHER THAN PAINTED AND PROVED A HIGHLY VISIBLE AND POPULAR FEATURE OF THE BODY STYLE.
