Welcome to the very reluctant sale of “Winnie” my Morris Minor 1000 in Frilford grey.
Built in 1959 and has not been restored and does not need restoring.
Winnie has clearly had work over the years but has a glorious patina and looking lovely reaching 66 years young in November this year.
Body:
Not restored but has a lovely patina and has some surface rust and blemishes which is showing her age with grace and not hiding any horrors.
All bright work is correct with patina and pitting with age, all lighting correct and working, working trafficators on a separate switch, working foglamps on main beam, all glass is good with good rubbers. Colour coded “grumpy” visor, new old stock correct roof rack , rear boot rack , nice period style front grill badges, chrome GB badge, chrome exhaust tip, chrome wing mirrors and chrome quarter light mirrors, all door handles working correctly with same key for door, boot and ignition.
John Brown minilite alloys with new tyres and chrome wheel nuts.
Underside rock solid, has had welding in the past but none needed now and no hidden rust.
Interior:
Again a lovely patina, seats and door cards in good condition ( little stitching needed on rear seat but not torn just unpicked, new rear parcel shelf bolster, great headlining , fitted carpets all good, all windows work correctly , quarter lights open correctly , replacement speedo and cable , new front under dash parcel tray and foam pad and vinyl , all electrics working correctly , wooden / alloy steering wheel, 2 working glove boxes , new heater matrix and fan

Mechanics:
Original 948cc 37hp engine which runs sweetly - recent work - head gasket, full service including oil, filters, water pump, fanbelt, thermostat and housing, radiator cap. distributer cap, points, condenser, points, rotor arm, leads, coil, new battery, engine steady bar, front disc conversion ( non servo) recent full clutch replacement , gearbox oil, diff oil, rear brake cylinders, handbrake cable, all greasing points done , damper oil done, all electrics working correctly.
Spares include:
Original wheels and tyres, hubcaps, wheel embellishers, alloy rocker cover, alloy pancake filter, banjo steering wheel and odds and sods
Also included period atlas, 2 period fire extinguishers, 2 period first aid kits, original drivers manual, workshop manual's other minor hardback books, original sales and accessory brochures , period petrol cans, wicker picnic basket period toolbox , other period bits and bobs. Indoor and outdoor covers included. Piles of Morris minor owners club magazines and a huge amount of invoices for work done over the years - MOT and tax exempt with v5 in my name
On the road:
Winnie drives without issue, steering , suspension all good with that typical minor exhaust note, goes through the gears with ease with no synchro on first or reverse.
A lovely driving car that takes you back to a gentler time with people smiling and waving as you drive past.
This is not an easy sale for me however Ill health has made the decision for me - someone is going to have a truly lovely vehicle.
