I have for sale my complete, original, matching numbers Lotus Elan Plus 2 130/ 5 Big Valve which has the famed Lotus 1558cc Big Valve Twin Cam engine attached to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The engine turns on the starter (but I have not started it as I was advised not too until I fully restore the car) it also turns very freely by hand. The chassis looks in pretty good nick, all the doors and bonnet are opening and closing, the interior vinyl is practically unmarked and intact but the dash will need refinishing. The carpets etc are present. I had it checked over and have been informed that the fibreglass is in solid condition with no osmosis. The alloy wheels are original and there are 5 of them (it will need new tyres). The running gear and chassis have not been modified.
This is a perfect car for a real enthusiast looking to undertake a full restoration and will end up with a very original car in the end. I bought this car in 2015 from a classic dealer with the intention of undertaking a full restoration but have just never found the time. So it is with a heavy heart that I have to let it go to a more deserving home. It has sat for many years but the engine bores are clean the engine turns by hand and everything rolls nicely. The interior vinyl is in very good condition but the dash will now need re-finishing. All of the switch gear is present. I have the log book and a nice folder of history/ receipts going back to 1978!! It just looks really sorry for its self due to the paint work.
