Description
In 1954, Citroën’s management, spurred by customers eager to have a faster and more powerful car, decided to evolve the 2CV, with the Type AZ equipped with a new engine derived from the Type A, but bored out to 425 cm3. It develops 12 SAE horsepower initially, which allows it to reach 70 km/ h. In December 1960, the 2CV received a newer, more modern bonnet with a large air intake on each side, which it would keep until the end of production, abandoning the old 23-rib corrugated sheet rear panel.
