There are few stars as celebrated, as venerated, or as larger than life than the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley. When it comes to his choice of conveyance it’s only fitting that such a colossal star would own such a colossal vehicle and that’s exactly what we have for sale here via the Car & Classic Auctions platform: Elvis Presley’s very own, personal, 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham<\/a>. And it’s all fully documented. What an opportunity this is.<\/p>\n

\"Cadillac,<\/a><\/p>\n

Not only is Cadillac the luxury division of General Motors but the Fleetwood designation represented Cadillac’s most luxurious models and on top of that even, the Brougham badge denoted an even higher level of trim. This means that the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham was at the very top of the pile when it came to luxury motoring in America in the ’70s and was more opulent than a lot of people’s homes. We could list all of the specs, along with performance figures and production numbers, but all of that pales into insignificance alongside the provenance of this particular Caddy. People will bid on this car for one reason and one reason only, and that reason is simply to own Elvis Presley’s Cadillac.<\/p>\n

\"Cadillac,<\/a><\/p>\n

So on to the car itself then. This is a 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham<\/a> bought new by Elvis himself on September 26th, 1974 from Madison Cadillac in Memphis, Tennessee. Opting for Vogue tyres, stainless hubcaps, a bonnet mounted Goddess ornament and a sunroof, Elvis paid the princely sum of $12,512. A veritable drop in the ocean for him we’re sure. The car is fitted with a column shifting, automatic gearbox and an 8.2-litre V8. Yep, you read that right. 8.2-litres. Or 500 cubic inches if you’re that way inclined. With 235bhp whichever way you look at it it’s a bit of a beast. Having said that it does fit the overall theme of this car perfectly. Elvis went big, and then went home, in unadulterated comfort and luxury.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mechanically speaking the car unfortunately doesn’t run in its current state as it hasn’t been used regularly. The big Cadilllac hasn’t suffered any catastrophic failures, though, and it would potentially just need a jolly good service to get it back on the road. It’s an all-original car that needs a little tender loving to bring it back to its best. The car presents well overall with only a few age related marks and blemishes to speak of and it appears to be a rust-free example. It could be argued that the imperfections are what makes it what it is \u2013 they are all part of the rich history of the car \u2013 you’ll be sitting in the same seat as Elvis, touching the same steering wheel that he did. Should you wish to go the full resto route, however, parts are readily available.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The interior is complete and 100% original. Yes, there are areas that need work (it is nearly 50 years old after all) but nothing that is beyond repair or cannot be replaced. It is incredibly well equipped with all of the bells and whistles commensurate with a top of the line Cadillac, including air conditioning, electric everything, cruise control and those wonderful velour seats. The icing on this particularly well-endowed cake is the all-important paperwork, which is all present and correct. From a copy of the original order form, signed by Elvis himself, to the delivery sheet, the car’s provenance is undoubted. It even comes with a 14 carat gold key and there’s not much cooler than that as far as we’re concerned.<\/p>\n

\"Cadillac,<\/a><\/p>\n

The car may not shake or rattle but we imagine it would certainly roll thanks to it’s super soft suspension and ride. Hard cornering is not what this car is about, however. This is a luxury cruiser that will turn heads wherever it goes, regardless of any previous owners, but the fact that this was Elvis’ own car makes it rock and roll royalty on wheels. Whatever you decide to do with it this is the Cadillac of Cadillacs and so a little less conversation and a little more bidding is in order for your chance to own a rather large (literally) piece of motoring history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
