Stipt Polish Point is a business we at Car & Classic have been following for quite some time. They post their impressive restorations on their ever popular social media channels. More than 350,000 people follow the detailing business based in Vught in the Netherlands. But Stipt started long before, as Rick\u2019s Car Cleaning, by a then 12 year old owner Rick van Stippent. The business wouldn\u2019t formally become Stipt Polish Point until 2014. In 2019 the team launched their shop, offering their in house detailing products to enthusiasts and businesses across the world.<\/p>\n

The Product<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

We\u2019d recommend following Stipt Polish Point on their social channels – we were struck by the results shown of their interior detailing products. Most detailers can display an impressive 50\/50 result on the exterior these days, but it\u2019s the interior where age and wear is harder to disguise. Stipt\u2019s combination of ‘Interior Matt Cleaner’<\/a> and ‘Leather Protect’<\/a> should therefore be the winning combination. The instructions for the cleaner are easy and simple, and no special tools are required, though the team at Stipt Polish Point did provide us with their wooden handled cleaning brush and multi detail brush to get the best results.<\/p>\n

The Test\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our test subject is a 2002 BMW 3-Series \u2013 with a challenging, light-coloured interior. Although the car hasn\u2019t covered huge miles, its 20 year use means that dirt, staining and shininess are the theme of the interior. The biggest test will be the almost glossy steering wheel \u2013 We\u2019re not making it easy for the Interior Matt Cleaner and Leather Protect, but first we gave the leather a quick hoover to ensure we don\u2019t pick up any abrasives that might damage the finish.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We worked as per the instructions: spray, brush, and then with a damp cloth, wipe clean, finishing off by drying with a clean, dry cloth. Rinse and repeat\u2026a lot, on every surface in the interior. The great thing about the Interior Matt Cleaner is that it’s safe to use on leather, fabric, imitation leather, and plastics so you can just go to town and slather it on everything.<\/p>\n

The Results<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

We\u2019re not detailers, but that is the beauty of these products; they can be used by everyone and on anything. The cleaners are gentle enough not to cause damage but powerful enough to provide you with what it says on the bottle – a fresh, matt looking interior. No shiny wear that dates an interior here. The product lathers up better than most leather cleaners we\u2019ve used and offers one of the best interior finishes we\u2019ve seen. Its smell is not pungent like a lot of cleaners can be either.<\/p>\n

The Leather Protect goes on thin, you wet a damp cloth and apply across the leather intended to be protected. Usually after a few days, especially on high touch areas like gear knobs and steering wheels, the shine is back, but in this case not so much. Leather Protect will be a great product for owners of classics with irreplaceable and rare interior trim items, offering protection from the sun, whilst allowing the leather to breathe. Stipt suggest repeating the treatment monthly to keep on top of protection levels, but unlike other leather protection it doesn\u2019t leave the surface with a glossy sticky finish, instead it leaves it with a fresh matt finish.<\/p>\n

The Verdict – 5 out of 5<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

We were blown away by the results of this interior cleaning session. We have yet to use another leather cleaning system that results in this kind of finish. For cleaning products, however, they are more on the expensive end of the spectrum of those available, but for the protection and results they offer it\u2019s hard to argue with the results. The pictures, especially the steering wheel, really speak for themselves. This is the original wheel to the car so has covered around 75,000 miles over its 20 year life, and now it looks as fresh as it did on the day it rolled off the production line in Germany.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
