Modification is, as well we all know, something subjective. What one person deems as being the greatest addition to their car may leave other recoiling in horror. This 1987 Porsche 924S<\/a>, however, strikes us a modified classic that would appeal to many. It certainly revs our engines. The modifications applied have enhanced and improved it, which combined with the extensive restoration works, serves to make it a very attractive prospect indeed. Plus, being a 924S, it has the bigger 2.5 litre engine under that front-hinged body, making it the best performing 924 next to the GT.<\/p>\n

\"924S,<\/a><\/p>\n

The seller is refreshingly honest in his description, stating that he paid \u00a312,500 for this very straight, very clean 924S in 2020. Most would have been happy with that, and enjoyed the car as is. Not our man though, as he instead opted to improve the 924S even further. Some \u00a311,000 has been spent on the underside and engine. The underside is in show condition as a result. A sea of freshly painted surfaces, new suspension components, new bushes, a new stainless steel exhaust and much more. Under the bonnet, the engine bay is equally immaculate, having been cleaned and serviced comprehensively. This is a car you look at and just know it was loved without compromise.<\/p>\n

\"924S,<\/a><\/p>\n

The interior of this 924S continues the theme of immaculate presentation, while also boasting some modern touches. Everything is clean, tidy and functional. The dash is free of cracks and damage, and has been improved with a period clock and housing, along with a full install (to the tune of \u00a32,000) of modern stereo, touchscreen and even Apple CarPlay. Neatly fitted into the dash, with hidden speakers and loom professionally installed behind, it looks proper while also bringing some welcome modernity. Finally, a beautiful wood-rim Nardi steering wheel finishes things off.<\/p>\n

\"924S,<\/a><\/p>\n

Externally, the bright red paint gleams from bumper to bumper. The 924S sits on the original ‘Teledial’ wheels, each one wearing fresh rubber. A black and gold bespoke decal package gives this 924S a unique look that we really, really like. But, it could be removed if it’s not for you. We’d keep it though, as it suits the car and makes it a real standout machine. One that will never be confused for another 924S, that’s for sure.<\/p>\n

\"924S,<\/a><\/p>\n

As for the more general stuff, this 924S has covered a mere 58k care of three owners. It comes with loads of history, including every MOT certificate from new, and there is an MOT in place until December of this year. There’s a folder full of every receipt and invoice to back up just how well this car has been cared for and, well, it’s an outstanding prospect as a result. A truly great example, and one that the current owner is clearly sad to sell. However, he states in the advert that at 80 years of age, getting in and out of the low-slung 924S isn’t quite as easy as he would like, and so it’s time to pass this on to someone else.
