Mainly because there is no chore in writing about such a special car. Though it wasn&#8217;t always that way. In fact, for most of its life it was a normal, basic 75. Nothing sexy at all. However, it lived its dull, hum-drum life in Greece, meaning it never saw salt, or any particularly adverse weather. This meant that unlike every other Alfa Romeo to roll out of Italy, this one has never had an issue with rust. We&#8217;re told by the vendor that the car has been built to meet FIA requirements. It hasn&#8217;t yet been certificated, but the owner is happy to help a new owner do this. And you&#8217;ll want to, because this isn&#8217;t any old Alfa Romeo 75 with a pair of bucket seats. The engine is now a glorious, soulful Busso 3.0 V6, it&#8217;s been fully rebuilt, it has a new induction system and we&#8217;re told it&#8217;s in rude health. The transaxle is in fine fettle, too, and grabs gears with gusto. Can&#8217;t be clipping apexes with Radio 2 playing and sweets falling out the glovebox, can you? Happily, no such concerns exist here. Instead, you have a stripped interior, a full roll cage, a Sparco bucket seat for the driver, a Sabelt bucket for the passenger, harnesses, bespoke aluminium door cars, custom switch panel and in the boot you&#8217;ll find a race specification fuel cell. It&#8217;s a serious bit of kit, built for some serious track action. If you want a bespoke, dedicated track car, this has to be it. The Alfa Romeo 75 was praised for its poise and balance, and this one is no exception. Built with speed in mind, this is going to be a riot to own and to drive. And isn&#8217;t it so, so much cooler than the usual brace of Clios and Focuseseses? Of course it is, because that&#8217;s how the Italians roll.
