Any Morgan motor car is a special, glorious thing. However, within the land of hand-built beauties out there, you can find examples that are even more special than the rest. Take this 2014 Morgan Roadster<\/a><\/em> for example. A Brooklands edition, it’s one of just 50 ever built to celebrate the history of Morgan itself and the company’s relationship with the historic banked track of Brooklands. It’s a celebration of speed, of history and of heritage. It’s not just trading on names though, as the car itself is pretty damn good, too.<\/p>\n

\"Morgan,<\/a><\/p>\n

The Morgan Roadster of this era represented the most powerful traditional model. By which we mean you had to look at the V8-powered, bonded aluminium chassis cars if you wanted more power and more speed. To our mind, and we’ve driven both, the V6 is the better car. It has more soul, more personality and with the 3.7 litre Ford V6 in charge of propulsion, it’s not even in the same hemisphere as the word ‘slow’. Add in the sharp six-cog manual transmission and you have a car that thrills and excites no matter how mundane the journey it’s been tasked with might be. Plus, the Morgan Roadster was a traditionally built car. Steel ladder chassis, ash wood body frame, hand-crafted body panels. It was and still is a proper Morgan.<\/p>\n

\"Morgan,<\/a><\/p>\n

The Brooklands edition boasted the appropriate green paint, but with ‘Speed Silver’ aluminium bonnet and nose. There are bespoke black alloy wheels, black leather trim, a period correct ‘banjo’ steering wheel and all manner of stainless steel interior fittings. There are no bumpers, naturally, but this 2014 Morgan Roadster<\/a><\/em> does have the rear-mount spare wheel, luggage rack and Morgan-branded suitcase fitted. Perfect for those romantic, spontaneous weekend escapes.<\/p>\n

This particular car is fighting fit and ready to go having just been treated to a whole host of works at a Morgan specialist. Oil, filter, new plugs, a suspension inspection and adjustment, new rear brakes, new bearings and it has even had some upgrades to make future servicing easier, like a new access panel for the transmission oil plug. It’s a perfect example with just 6,367 miles on the clock, and one that will thrill and excite the lucky new owner. Plus, being a limited edition Morgan, the value will always be there, making it a very safe investment indeed.<\/p>\n
