There is a school of thought that states you\u2019re not a proper petrolhead unless you\u2019ve owned an Alfa Romeo<\/a>. We can see where the people who say that are coming from. Alfa Romeo cars stand for the raw, visceral driving experience that fills your heart with pride for your passion and your nose with the octanes of petrol. Alfas, then, are good. Or at least, they are if you buy the right one. A 2009 MiTo may leave the heart wanting. A 1992 164 V6 Cloverleaf is a bit closer to the mark. But even then, it\u2019s nothing compared to a true, thoroughbred classic like this magnificent 1967 Guilia Sprint GT Veloc<\/a>e. Just look at it. How could you not want that?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Guilia Sprint was the first Guilia sport model, and was based on a shortened floorpan of the larger Guilia saloon. Though the body was styled to be in keeping with its predecessor, the Giulietta and as you\u2019d expect, it was the work of Bertone. This model, the Sprint GT Veloce<\/a> was introduced in 1966 and boasted more power and more torque from its 1.6-litre twin-cam engine.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Alfa<\/a><\/p>\n

This particular Giulia is a 105.37, which is Italian code for factory right-hand drive. It\u2019s only had four owners over its lifetime and between \u201807 and \u201810 it underwent a complete restoration, and going off the pictures, no nut was left unturned in the process. It looks absolutely stunning. It\u2019s not all about the looks though. The Sprint GT Veloce was hot thanks to the 1.6 twin-cam engine, which is nice. This particular car, however, now has a 2.0 twin-cam unit that gives it even more power. This is a car that will thank you when you give it some beans, and through those twin carbs your earls will be very happy indeed. They say driving an Alfa should be an occasion, and that seems to be something on offer with this car. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Alfa<\/a><\/p>\n

The car comes with documentation – both paperwork and photographs – showing the restoration work that has been carried out. It also comes with extensive service history and maintenance files, along with a whole host of spares, too, which should help to keep the running costs of this old Alfa down.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This seems to be a well cared for, beautiful condition, rare and exceptionally desirable old Alfa Romeo<\/a>. And from a time when Alfa Romeo was at the very top of its game. It might not have the same lightweight, no frills appeal of the earlier Guilietta models, but it has the looks and with that 2.0 engine, it has plenty of pace, too. Buy this and we can promise you that you, like so many others, will fall head over heels in love with Alfa Romeo. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
