Old Jags, and their even more luxurious Daimler cousins have a menacing, effortless kind of cool about them. You look at an old Daimler and you just nod knowingly. It\u2019s the kind of car that commands respect. It\u2019s also a car with menacing purpose. Take the Daimler we\u2019re looking at here. The long, low and lean Series III body is brooding and purposeful. This isn\u2019t a car you see glimmering in the countryside with a picnic hamper in tow. No, this is the kind of car you see stalking London\u2019s underbelly beneath the dark night sky. It\u2019s a bit mean, a bit gangster, a car not to be messed with.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Daimler,<\/a><\/p>\n

The car we\u2019re looking at here is arguably the pick of the bunch, being a Double Six<\/a>. That means it\u2019s the full fat, no nonsense 5.3 litre V12 that was knocking on the door of 300bhp. That\u2019s some rocket ship power today, let alone in 1992. And yes, this car is a 1992. It might strike you as being a bit old school, but the reality is that the Double Six was indeed available until 1992 – its final year of production.<\/span><\/p>\n

The age of this Daimler<\/a> isn\u2019t the only remarkable thing. There\u2019s the mileage, too. Or should we say, the lack of any mileage of note. The vendor states the car has just 10k miles on the clock! Of course, we would encourage you to investigate that further. However, going off the condition of the car we can well believe it – this thing is absolutely stunning. There isn\u2019t a mark on it. The engine bay is as fresh as the day it left the factory and the underside would be a perfectly acceptable serving method for your dinner. The car was apparently bought new and shipped to Japan, where it has been part of a private collection ever since. And that\u2019s why we\u2019re inclined to believe the mileage – it\u2019s not the first car we\u2019ve heard of going overseas only to then never turn a wheel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Daimler,<\/a><\/p>\n

This amazing machine is a real time capsule of a car. You simply wouldn\u2019t be able to find another one this original, or this late in the production run. It\u2019s the perfect representation of what is, for this writer at least, one of the best-looking Jags\/Daimlers to ever roll out of Sir William\u2019s factory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Daimler,<\/a><\/p>\n

The big problem with any British car of this era is always going to be rust, but this car has none. It\u2019s very clearly been dry stored all its life. If this car was a project, it would <\/span>still<\/span><\/i> be worth the \u00a317,995 asking price just because of how solid it is. The fact it\u2019s in mint condition makes it an astounding bargain. Look after this and you\u2019ll have a classic that you can use every day, that always attracts praise and that can also be used in a Guy Ritchie movie!
