The 2020 show season has, well, it\u2019s not happened. The Global Pandemic of Covid-19 has seen to it that gatherings and events have been put on a distant back-burner. This is of course necessary, as safety is paramount. However, there is no denying that we have missed getting out and about to see the cars and the friendly faces found at the summer\u2019s most popular shows. And up until recently, the sadness was at a high, as it looked unlikely that we\u2019d be able to enjoy any events. <\/span><\/p>\n

But then, in a vision akin to that of a cold glass of water in a scorching desert, the team at London Concours<\/a> announced that, after much careful consideration and fresh planning, the 2020 event is indeed going ahead. Originally penned in for this month, the event will now take place over the weekend of the 19th and 20th of August. Dust off the camera, we have an event to attend! <\/span><\/p>\n

\"London<\/p>\n

The event, presented by Montres Breguet, has now secured formal approval to take place at the originally-planned venue of The Honourable Artillery Company in London. This almost \u2018secret\u2019 swathe of green space provides an elegant, yet intimate backdrop for the event. Of course, it will have a different feel this year due to the impact of Covid, but nothing that will detract from the excitement of the event. <\/span><\/p>\n

In order to ensure the weekend can go ahead, considerations have been made in relation to social distancing measures, revised hospitality and increased venue space. Audience welfare is very much a priority for this event. As further evidenced by the offering of separate morning and afternoon tickets. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rowan Kitching, Director of Events at The HAC, said: <\/span>\u201cWe are delighted to support the return of London Concours to The HAC. As such a key event in our calendar it was welcome news that outdoor spaces could reopen their doors in order for us to showcase this fabulous event on the beautiful Artillery Garden at The HAC. I\u2019ve been hugely impressed by all the hard work behind the scenes that our teams have shown to make our venues and events a safe and secure place to visit.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Over the past months, London Concours organisers have continued to secure partners and content for the event. Visitors will be treated to curated feature displays of \u2018The Lost Marques\u2019 \u2013 a collection of car manufacturers lost to time \u2013 \u2018The Speed of Sand\u2019, which brings together the Hot Rods that annually gather on Pendine Sands, \u2018The Era of the Hypercar\u2019, which collects the latest and most innovative performance cars, and more. A very clear and deliberate effort has been made to ensure there truly is something for everyone. <\/span><\/p>\n

With an offering of nearly 100 automotive icons from the modern day to the early 20th Century, the Honourable Artillery Company HQ\u2019s glorious 20,000 sq\/m lawn \u2013 near to Bank and Moorgate \u2013 will be transformed into a motoring utopia for two days only, complete with displays from specialist automotive dealers and manufacturers. But London Concours is not just about the cars on display, it\u2019s an automotive garden party complete with boutiques from watchmakers, Montres Breguet, arthouses, fashion brands and fine food and drink. <\/span><\/p>\n

This event also brings to fruition a new direction for Car & Classic, which represents our push into the physical classic car space with events like this, created by and for like-minded enthusiasts. Speaking ahead of the event, Car & Classic’s CEO, Tom Wood said; “Since acquiring Car & Classic in 2018, we’ve been working on various new ways to bring the brand to life and get closer to our loyal community. Our partnership with London Concours is a perfect fit for us. It’s a friendly space, showcasing a superb collection of cars and the venue is even overlooked by our London HQ so it’s quite literally on our doorstep!<\/p>\n

This collaboration is one of many new interactive initiatives we’re developing to benefit our community, and forms part of our expansion into more physical events, experiences and new website features such as Car & Classic’s live Auction platform, which we launched earlier this week” <\/p>\n
