Today marks the end of <\/span>Car & Classic Auctions<\/span><\/a>\u2019 first live week! It\u2019s been thrilling for us and and we’ve had some lovely feedback from you, watching the new, exciting and trustworthy platform spring into life. As we have covered in <\/span>other posts<\/span><\/a>, a huge amount of work has gone into creating the safest, most cost effective curated Classic Car Auction on the web and after watching a week\u2019s worth of bidding, we\u2019re happy to say that it is already a huge success.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, building this new site and function is one thing. Your interaction with it is what really matters though, and we\u2019re pleased to report that thanks to hundreds of registered bidders already on the site, the bids have been flying in thick and fast. Bristol Blenheim – Sold for \u00a338,000<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The big Bristol was a car that was always going to make a splash in the auction waters. But this car, with extensive history, low miles and its exceptional condition made all the right waves. These cars have a passionate following and that following made itself known during the bidding. With a last minute bidding war the digital hammer fell on this car at \u00a338,000, smashing the car’s reserve. The proud new owner has already safely transferred funds via Car & Classic’s secure Escrow service and is picking the car up later today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ford Mustang – Sold for \u00a319,250<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Was there ever any doubt that this 1967 Ford Mustang GTA would sell? The Mustang is, for many, <\/span>the<\/span><\/i> muscle car to have. And 1967 is a particularly eye-pleasing vintage. But it\u2019s also a treat for the ears thanks to that magnificent 289 V8 engine. In fact, it\u2019s the complete package – bright red paint, lashings of chrome, American Racing wheels with matching, white-lettered Cooper Cobra GTs. The high bidder on this is going to be very, very happy indeed.<\/span><\/p>\n

VW Camper – Sold for \u00a39,578<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Another classic to gain a winning bid was this lovely blue 1976 Volkswagen Camper. Just in time for the summer holidays, the bidding for this popular classic was constant throughout, with a pleasing flurry of activity in the closing moments. Now off to a happy new owner, the hammer fell at \u00a39,578.<\/p>\n

There are few cars as iconic as the classic Porsche 911, and this one is no exception. Radiant in a coat of bright yellow paint, this <\/span>1979 SC<\/span><\/a> model comes from America, where it lived a dry, rust-free life in California. There is some work to be done here, but that just means this 911 is a car you can make your own. And with a low reserve, the chances of that becoming a reality are strong indeed!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everybody seems to love the Mini. Certainly, it\u2019s one of those cars many of us have owned at some point, or failing that, we\u2019ve known someone who has. The Mini has permeated the motoring world in a way most other cars can only dream of – it\u2019s a four-wheeled legend. Which is why this original specification <\/span>1967 850cc<\/span><\/a> model is so appealing. A recent, light restoration, this Mini is a brilliant example of the model\u2019s purest, original form.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Only last year were we writing about how the <\/span>Daimler SP25<\/span><\/a>0, or \u2018Dart\u2019 as we more commonly know it, has become a bona fide cult classic. Imagine then how happy we were to consign this lovely <\/span>B Spec 1961<\/span><\/a> model. Lovingly cared for, a freshly-rebuilt 2.5 litre V8, fourspeed \u2018box and stacks of history, this is quite possibly one of the finest out there. It\u2019s a car that has definitely grown into its looks over the years, and is now recognised as the full-bore classic that it is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
