Modified cars can be a bit hit and miss, because after all, one owner\u2019s vision and idea of improvement may not be the same as the next. However, there is no denying that in the case of this frankly stunning Audi 80 Avant<\/a>, the modifications take it to another level. Rather than go hell for leather, the owner has, over the space of three years, applied a collection of carefully considered modifications.<\/p>\n

\"audi,<\/a><\/p>\n

The Audi came to its current owner as a bog-standard V6 Avant in light metallic grey. Since then though, an awful lot has been done. The big visual changes come in the form of the full range of S2 and RS2 parts like the bumpers and the side skirts. Painted to match, the bodywork was then polished up to match. The owner states it\u2019s not perfect, as the paint on the bonnet is showing its age, and there is some ever so slight corrosion on the bottoms of the wings, but that\u2019s about it. Nothing a body shop couldn\u2019t sort in a day or two should you want to turn this Audi into a true showstopper.<\/p>\n

The engine, a 2.8 V6, has been replaced with a lower mileage unit (80k) meaning there is lots of life left in it. Obviously a new clutch was fitted, too. The engine has been fully serviced and refreshed, and has also been cleaned and detailed, meaning that it\u2019s quite an impressive spectacle when the bonnet is lifted. It\u2019s also a treat when fired up, as a custom stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, which capitalises on the noise of that glorious Audi V6.<\/p>\n

The interior has been cleaned and detailed, and the seats have been replaced with those from the S2,a s has the steering wheel. And being an Audi, the interior is solid, clean cut and as such, has aged wonderfully. It still looks great today. The perfect blend of form and function.<\/p>\n

Finally, there is the stance of this Audi. The car sits on a set of custom-made coilover suspension, which brings the Avant much closer to terra firma. Then, at each corner, you\u2019ll find utterly magnificent, one-off Porsche split-rim alloys. Built especially for this car, they fill the arches perfectly and give it a look that other cars can only dream of. In the Volkswagen and Audi scene, to be unique is to be king, and these wheels are the ruler supreme. Though if, for some odd reason, they\u2019re not for you, the car is available with a set of S4 alloy wheels. Again, these are shod in fresh rubber and they also look the part. They\u2019re just not as \u2018stand out\u2019 as the Porsche hoops.<\/p>\n

If you want a car that will wow wherever it goes, this Audi 80 Avant<\/a> is it. But more than that, it\u2019s a car you can use – it is an estate after all.
