We love a hot rod here at Car & Classic. So much so that we even delved deep into the etymology of the term to find out more, which you can read <\/span>via the magazine<\/span><\/a>. Hot rods are just, well, they\u2019re just cool, aren\u2019t they? Okay, so they\u2019re not for everyone, what with the low and often unforgiving suspension, the noise and so on. But for us, they get our motor running. This is it, the proper beginning of car modification. Of exploring and exploiting what could be done with an old jalopy. And while the world of car modification has moved on with the car itself, the hot rod still remains strong. It\u2019s still a popular style, and one that has a massive enthusiast base behind it as well as a multi-million pound industry. Look at Holley, B&M, Painless, Hotchkiss, Edelbrock, Baer, Weiand, Hoosier, NOS, Cragar and many, many more. Huge companies, all of which owe a lot of their success to the ongoing popularity of the humble hot rod. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Ford,<\/a><\/p>\n

Back in the early days of the hot rod, they were cars cobbled together by budding home mechanics looking for speed. Soon though, the industry caught on and saw potential. And with that, the market came alive with hop up and performance parts which in turn made it even easier to build a rod. Now, hot rods are still often \u2018home brew\u2019 but many are stunning, perfect show pieces, much like this 1932 Ford Model B pick-up<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Ford,<\/a><\/p>\n

Fords and hot rod culture go hand in hand. Ask anyone, and they\u2019ll tell you that early \u201830s Fords are the king. Pop culture would certainly back that up, with cars like John Milner\u2019s \u201832 Deuce Coupe, or how about the Eliminator – rock band ZZ Top\u2019s alleged 200mph \u201834 Ford. Yep, Fords are hot rod royalty. This Model B<\/a>, then, is bang on the money. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Ford,<\/a><\/p>\n

This is the real deal. It\u2019s all-steel, it\u2019s powered by a monstrous 6.6-litre Buick \u2018nailhead\u2019 V8 with Edelbrock carbs and hugger heads, all of which is mated up to a five-speed manual Tremec 600 \u2018box. It\u2019s running coilover rear suspension with lowered and chromed suspension up front. The stance over those staggered steel wheels with dog-dish hubcaps is perfection. The bed has been lined in high quality wood, the paint is immaculate Deep Tartan Blue and the interior is a mix of blue with swathes of tan hide. It\u2019s just, from front to back, utter perfection. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"Ford,<\/a><\/p>\n

If you want a hot rod, this has to be it. It\u2019s traditional in style, it\u2019s not had a practicality-limiting roof chop, it\u2019s the right base car, it\u2019s got the right modifications – it\u2019s the real deal. Buy this and you will absolutely fall in love with it. Use it as a promotional vehicle for your business, or just buy it because it\u2019s cool, it\u2019s unique and it will be a tremendous amount of V8 fun.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
