The Appeal
Introduced by Fiat during their 50s and 60s golden age, the 1100/103 really captures Italy’s post-war optimism period in style. A compact little unibody, with pontoon styling, the friendly-looking motor was released in Tipo A - a more spartan, perhaps ‘traditionally Fiat’ example, and Tipo B - which is exactly what you’re looking at right here. The blueprint for the Italian carmaker was here, and it was an instant winner.
This example is highly original, having been family owned for its entire life, and comes beautifully preserved with ASI gold-plate accreditation.

- Seat edging has some light burnishing, most likely stemming from the doors
- Carpets and headlining look to be in good order with light wear
- Rear seat has some staining on its wheel arch carpeting
- Door cards suffer from staining and discolouration with wear to the fittings
- The boot is in good, solid order with no major faults we can highlight
- Ultimately, an impressive period interior in need of only light restoration
The Exterior
- Attractive little motor with distinctive grill and centre light
- Plenty of Fiat branding and fitted with ASI gold plate
- Repainted to a high standard circa 2013
- Paintwork looks to be in fine fettle
- Very light marks to the car’s front that are difficult to discern without close inspection
- Some very slight chipping to the front wheel arches, just below the bumper
- Chromework is bright and attractive with plenty of reflective surface
- Front indicator lights show some clouding, but all other lenses are bright and clean
- Chrome and painted wheel caps are in fair order with some pitting and wear
- Whitewall tyres are in need of replacement, with very little tread remaining
- Underneath, the car is in excellent condition with only surface-level wear
- Exhaust is non-period replacement while much of the underneath otherwise appears original
- Ultimately, a very impressive example throughout with no major cosmetic faults
The Mechanics
- Powered by the 1,089cc I4 powerplant
- 4-speed manual transmission, column mounted
- Engine bay appears clean and well kept with minor wear
- Some minor oil leaks from the differential and gearbox
- Battery is newly fitted
