1964 Lambretta GT200 Brighouse

  • Nicely patinated example
  • Well-known scooter in the Lambretta fraternity
  • Desirable set of ‘Arthur Fraces Racing’ modifications in period
  • Long time enthusiast ownership
  • Great example of Lambretta’s flagship model

The faster and more powerful GT200 of 1963 (TV200 in Europe) was built as an export model only, and was aimed squarely at the more overtly sporting and boisterous British riders. The high power and consequent stronger performance made it an instant hit with UK scooterists, and the model went on to be sold in France, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the States.
Introduced in 1966, the SX was a step up in all respects to Innocenti’s previous models. The model is held in high regard by Lambretta aficionados and the wider scooter fraternity.

  • Retains its original ‘buff’ log book
  • Modified to ‘Arthur Fraces Racing’ spec in early Seventies
  • 2014 recommissioning and refresh
  • Owned by a series of committed Lambretta collectors

  • Nicely patinated early Seventies two-tone paint work
  • Fabbri legshield spare wheel holder as fitted to genuine Watford-built S-Types
  • All rubber parts, handles, runners and faring edge remain supple and show a very healthy shade of grey
  • Frame in excellent condition
  • Original Giuliari seat with original black cover
  • Rare original Cuppini sprint rack (as per Arthur Francis)
  • Original ‘fine line’ light switch (correct for GT200’s)
  • Original June 1972 tax disc and holder

  • 198cc air-cooled single
  • Fresh Amal Caburettor fitted to Scootmobile
  • Lucas 12V Points ignition upgrade with Zener Diode (done in period)
  • Reverse Pull Front Disc Upgrade
  • SX200 Kickstart Arm
  • Mechanicals appear healthy with no signs of leaks.
  • Scooter starts readily and runs smoothly
  • Suspension and brake components all clean and in excellent condition

A fine and interesting example of a sort-after variant of one of Lambretta’s iconic models. The period modifications probably make it even more desirable. With a comprehensive rebuild and not many miles ridden since, this scooter has much to commend it. British-registered 200cc Lambrettas are extremely rare and it coming from a knowledgeable and conscientious collector is an added bonus.
