The Beetle couldn't be more iconic. Even the most casual layman can recognise the legendary German 'people's car', find it absolutely fascinating and, of course, resonate with its characteristic exhaust noise. These little cars really did change the world and had a huge impact on the international zeitgeist.
They continue to be absolutely loved. The Beetle is easy to drive, easy to maintain and rewarding to drive, and has become one of the most popular classic cars around! This 1966 example with its 1.2-litre engine represents the golden era of Beetle production, when the car had evolved beyond its utilitarian roots but still retained its pure, classic design. In recent years, it has been completely restored, with special attention paid to the interior, which has been completely redone to a high standard.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.

If an auction vehicle doesn't sell, it may be converted into a “Make an offer” listing. This will retain all of the details of the auction listing but replace the bidding functionality with an offering system whereby potential buyers can make an offer on the vehicle. To take the hassle out of the whole process and to prevent any unnecessary squabbling we'll automatically decline anything less than 70% of the asking price so only offers that are worth considering will be accepted.
