1970 Ford Cortina Mk2 1600E

Highlights

  • Original and unmodified 1600E
  • Only 53,797 miles on the odometer
  • Just four keepers from new
  • Low mileage supported by MOTs
  • Comprehensive service history with all MOTs available
  • Very smart and usable classic Cortina

The Appeal

The 1600E was a masterstroke. Channeling the aesthetics of the Lotus Cortina - including its lowered suspension - with a tuned Kent motor and luxury wood-lined interior, this was a saloon as sumptuous as it was sporting.
It populated many suburban driveways and company car parks and launched the battle of the trim levels. All of which makes this unmolested 1970 survivor a nostalgic find. Cast your eyes across the bucket seats and wood veneers and recall a bygone era.
It is in very good, original condition with the displayed sub-54,000 miles verified as correct according to MOT history and the vendor. A good history file and long, advisory-free MOT to March 2025 support the sense of a car carefully maintained by its four keepers over its 54 years.
